Undiagnosed ADHD can cause individuals to have issues at school, at work and in relationships. In some cases, the symptoms of ADHD can be seen as early as early childhood. But in others, they can cause problems only after they reach adulthood and start to affect their ability to manage relationships, hold an occupation, manage their money, meet deadlines, maintain good health, and become organized.

Many people with ADHD are embarrassed or ashamed to discuss their difficulties with a doctor, and so they are reluctant to speak up. This can delay the diagnosis and treatment. This can also delay the diagnosis since the doctor needs to understand your symptoms in detail to determine if you have ADHD.
